Thanks for looking at my coaching profile. I would love to set up a free initial 30-minute telephone consultation with you to see if there is a good fit between us for a coaching relationship. My phone number is 310-640-8017 and I live in the Los Angeles area.
I approach coaching from a distinctly Christian perspective. What I mean by that is that any work that we do together and any goals that we create together will be formally or informally put through two filter questions: "Do these decisions agree with what the Bible says about the way to live?" and "Will doing this make us both more like Jesus?" Said another way, if you do not appreciate Jesus, the Bible, and Christianity then you may not be happy with me as your coach.
My background that I bring to Christian coaching begins with receiving Christ as my Personal Savior on Easter, 1982. I first started providing premarital counseling at my church a few years later and have been involved in various ministry and teaching roles since then. My formal training in coaching includes a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (2000) and a M.A. in Theology (1997), both earned from Fuller Theological Seminary. I also have an additional Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (1984) from CSULB. Along with my Ph.D training, I have recently completed the Core Essentials Program training from CoachU and am now working on my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation in the CoachU Advanced Program. In addition, I have taught as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University in their doctoral program in Organizational Leadership since 2002 and before that at Loyola Marymount University starting in 1997.
I do provide a certain number of scholarship slots in my practice for those who are in full-time Christian ministry and for single moms. Why scholarships for single moms? I have found more than 20 separate Bible references pertaining to caring for the "widows and orphans." In the 21st Century Church, I believe that would include the single moms and their children so I want to help out with this where I can.
