Self Description I am smart, but not 'intellectual'. I have a good sense of humor, and I believe coaching should frequently (but not always) be fun.
When coaching, I do my best to listen with my whole person: I tune into what you are saying, and how you are saying it. And I listen for what you are NOT saying, too. I've been told I am very perceptive.
I also speak freely when I have something to share. I value effective communication, and I can communiciate powerfully.
Goals
|
Interest Of course, I am 'into' coaching. I like reading about it, and talking about it. My other interests include a passion for music (Steely Dan Yo Yo Ma, Pat Metheny and John Coltrane are on my play list today...). I am an advocate for Autism Awareness. In my rare spare time, I like to fly fish or watch baseball, football or basketball. I play guitar... jazz guitar... and enjoy any trip to the beach... working out on the elliptical trainer, and doing anything with my wife, Maureen.
Qualities & StrengthsI draw on all of my personal gifts in coaching: intelligence, humor, perspective, an active intuition and strong sense of empathy. I will also draw on my various life roles and experiences to make a point in coaching. This seems to serve my clients exceptionally well.
- Executive Leadership Experience. I am a practicing executive and manager, currently the Vice President of Career Services at The Art Institute of Philadelphia. My 20 years of experience also includes the publishing industry (Harcourt Brace), internet technology (MapQuest) and healthcare information.
- Parenting. I am the father of two, an adult daughter and a college-age son.
- Marriage. Married for 30 years. I draw on the experiences of my marriage, as well as the wisdom of my wife and soul-mate, Maureen.
