Step away from the rolling crate!  Are you an over-worked teacher who drags a crate filled with work home every night?  Do you roll it out to your car, heave it in, only to have it stay in the car all night without you ever actually completed the work that is in the crate!?  Then you are left with feeling badly about everything you didn't accomplish?  If this sounds like you in any aspect of your life, I can help.  Stop bringing your work home every night; both literally and figuratively, and start living your life.        http://lifefitz.typepad.com/life_fitz_coaching/

    Self Description

I have an innate and genuine curiousity about people and what makes them tick.  I am so fascinated by human nature and why people make the choices they do.  I feel gratified when I can help people make the best choices for themselves. It has been my personal duty to help the teachers that I work with feel that they are the best they can possibly be, first and foremost, for themselves.

    Interest

I have a plethora of interests, ranging from finding new dishes to satiate my vegetarian palate, to going to rock concerts, to sitting down with a good book and reading the afternoon away.  I have been told that I am a great listener, have a great sense of humor and am a very balanced person.

    Qualities & Strengths

I am passionate about the reading and writing process.  If you are a teacher struggling with students in your class or a parent who is not sure about how to help your child with reading and writing, I'm your gal.  I also have extensive knowledge in the area of classroom management and organization.

If you are attempting to obtain National Board Certification, I have been successfully mentoring candidates for 7 years.  If you are an administrator in need of Professional Development, I plan the Professional Development for my school of 1,075 elementary students!  Working with new and veteran teachers to make them feel successful in the classroom is what I do every day and it is what I do best.

    Background

I went to an education school, Lesley University, in Cambridge, MA for my bachelor's degree, which is in Early Childhood Education.  My Master's Degree is in Reading and Early Literacy.

I moved to Florida and taught Kindergarten for seven years, then first grade for two years.  I became a Reading Specialist and Nationally Board Certified.  I am currently a fourth year Literacy Coach, mentoring teachers in elementary schools.  My success in helping teachers become better teachers turned me on to life coaching.

I used to be you.  I felt constantly overwhelmed at school and unable to ever keep up with the demands of the job.

I truly believe that teaching is one of the most difficult and least understood of all professions.

I now have more responsibilities than ever before and less stress than ever before.  It had to do with changing my thinking.  I did it for myself and I can help you do it, too.  Start by asking yourself this question:  Am I doing what is important?
