Self Description What's important for you to know about me? First, that I care a lot about almost anything I get involved with (otherwise why bother, right?); second, that I can be counted on no matter what. In addition, I'm loyal, honest, and funny (when it's appropriate). I hear what's between the lines and am not afraid to share it (gracefully and compassionately) regardless of how uncomfortable it may be for me, as long as it has the potential to benefit you. I'm both very practical and highly intuitive. I've "been there, done that, got the T-shirt" and integrate this into my unique contribution to your process.
GoalsMy goals for achieving success with and for you are to: LISTEN to what you say about what you are wanting or not wanting; CLARIFY / CRYSTALIZE your initial set of intentions; ENGAGE in an honest, candid, soul-searching conversation about what you are willing to do to get what you want; PARTNER with you to develop a set of blueprints to get you there; MAKE adjustments as we discover what's working and what isn't; CELEBRATE with you as you reach your milestones, and ultimately, your final destination.

Interest A balance between being a successful business person and keeping my personal well-being in good condition is key to my definition of a satisfying and happy life. Business interests include reading and researching leading edge ideas; meeting like-minded people as well as exploring "purple cow" ideas. My personal interests include walks on the beach, romantic evenings in front of the fireplace.........I'm kidding. How to do this part without it sounding like a "personal ad"......I have an 18 year old cat whom I love like a child; I really do like to spend time taking walks through green areas; I read almost as much for personal satisfaction as I do for my business; meeting and talking to people who care about themselves and the planet on which we all live.
Qualities & StrengthsBelief in people's ability to change; committed to people, process and results; creative, direct yet compassionate; encouraging / supportive; holistic and humanistic; honest; intuitive, intelligent, logical / pragmatic; passionate about life / work; problem-solver; right-brain / left-brain balanced (ask me how and why this is a strength); sense of humor / ability to bring fun to the process; wise (if I do say so myself).

BackgroundOver 25 years in business, 15 of which were in management, project management, and management training, exposed me to on-going and varied aspects of "real-time coaching". Life crisis. Get me out of here! In early 1993 I started my own problem-solving business (Self Design Strategies) doing what I truly love: facilitating people and businesses in realizing their full potential. Shortly after that I heard of Coach University and officially launched my coaching career. As one of the earliest CoachU graduates (1995), Inside and Out, Coaching was born. I have been coaching individuals and businesses for over 13 years now.
CorporateMy deep understanding and appreciation of both individuals and business results in part from my 23 years with IBM Corporation, followed by almost 5 years with Lotus Development Corporation (pre-IBM). I managed, trained managers, managed projects and spear-headed ground-breaking programs in the PC and workstations division. My projects exposed me to sales, administration, systems, manufacturing, finance, human resources, finance, product marketing and product development. Been there, got the T-shirt! In addition, I have been an licensed Avatar Master and 2nd degree Reiki Master.
EducationI launched my professional life right after graduating high school and it hasn't turned out too bad: a highly awarded IBM employee with both a management and senior staff career. Senior Project Manager for "Burning Issues" projects for Lotus Development Corp. All this, followed by starting my own business and sustaining that coaching business now in it's 13th year. Statistics show that approximately 17% (or less) of employees are in jobs related to their graduate degrees. Hmm.......
Coaching MethodsOne-to-one coaching: Most of my coaching is based on four (4) 30 minute phone calls per month (one call per week) with email and fax support. I will discuss other options based on your needs.
Corporate coaching: Determined based on an assessment of needs. Contact me for details.
LocationsI am physically located in the Boston, MA, USA area. However, you might already know that a majority of one-to-one coaching occurs on the phone. So, we are only limited as far as our time zones dictate. If you are geographically close, then we may do the exploratory meeting and Getting Started sessions in person (at your convenience and preference). Otherwise, all this occurs on the phone. Works well. Ask anyone you know who already coaches this way.

Testimonials"I can honestly say that my weekly calls with Phoenix have been the single most important factor in my being able to build a business and life that I love. She's a great listener, a relentless encourager, and a "pulls no punches" observer who frequently holds up a mirror for me to see what is getting in the way of my own success. She is also an experienced businessperson herself which means that she understands where I'm coming from. I have recommended Phoenix to at least a dozen friends and colleagues over the years and I am happy to recommend her to you as well!"

"Besides being married to the love of my life, and having two wonderful children, coaching with Phoenix has been the most personally rewarding thing I have ever done!"
Betsy Harper, CEO / Managing Partner, Sales and Marketing Search
"Working with Phoenix has been more remarkable than I could have imagined. She has shown me how to clearly see and work through thought patterns that have stood in the way of sculpting my inner and outer life into what I had wished they could be. I can sincerely say that because of Phoenix's coaching I am able to live my life more fully and I am happily giving myself the gifts of abundance and clarity on a daily basis.
Debbie Breen, Director - Medical Market Development, EBSCO Publishing
"....coaching filled a void I didn't even know I had. I've spent most of my career in positions of leadership where I not only didn't have a supervisor, I didn't have a peer. Getting advice was a "hit or miss" process of asking colleagues or doing my own research. Phoenix's coaching has been my source of "one stop shopping". While she has been an invaluable coach for strategic business decisions, most importantly she has coached me through tough people issues - from dealing with difficult personalities on my board of directors to those on my management team. When I've lost perspective Phoenix helps me regain it, including the balance of work, family and my own well being. Her wealth of knowledge is so broad that almost anything I bring up she can identify an article, book, resource or website for me. She could probably identify a great place for dinner in Kathmandu. I'd cut back on the heat in my office before I'd cut the cost of her coaching from my budget."
