Are you a busy professional woman who has:
---> Hit the wall trying to juggle career, parenting, and self? . . . or
---> Stopped thriving or performing well in your work? . . . or
--->
Reached mid-life asking, "Is this all there is?" or "Now what?

If you are a highly effective person feeling stalled, chances are you’re not addressing the heart of the matter, and you’re feeling frustrated at not being able to figure it out on your own. I’ll offer you tools, reframes, and questions that change the way you think about yourself and that allow your next steps to become clear, do-able and even compelling. My interactive process can become a powerful catalyst for your own natural creative and problem-solving energies (yes, they’re still in there).

I work by phone with clients around the world and can meet in person in Boston as well.  In working with you, I combine a wealth of real-world business and life experience with a pragmatic, results-oriented, non-judgmental approach which will support you to take appropriate action.  CONTACT ME (sharon@stcoach.com) to schedule an initial consultation.  You'll know at the end of the conversation whether you want to work with me.

"As a work-life coach, Sharon helped me make my work fit into my life instead of making my life fit into my work."   C.D., Marketing Vice-President, Mother of 2

"Acting as your guide and wielding a sharp machete, Sharon cuts away the underbrush (your excuses) and gets right to the point — firmly yet gently. You'll find yourself making those changes you've always wanted to make — and feeling excited and recharged in the process."
D.H., Business Owner, New Hampshire

    Self Description

    I am a Work-Life and Career Coach, author, and motivational speaker who specializes in coaching high achieving women, people at mid-career, and professionals seeking greater career satisfaction and work-life balance. Author of the 2005 book, Getting Unstuck Without Coming Unglued: Restoring Work-Life Balance, I have been International Coach Federation-certified since 1999, and was recently awarded the MCC designation, Master Certified Coach . I work with individual clients throughout the US by phone, or in person in the Boston area, and always offer an initial consultation at no charge. I also delivers keynotes, workshops, and brown bag sessions on work-life, productivity, and stress management to organizations. I have led trainings for Children’s Hospital Boston, Merrill Lynch, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Arnold Worldwide, the Women's Executive Forum, and many parent and alumni groups. I have been featured as a coach in several national publications including The New York Times, Chicago Tribune, and Working Mother Magazine. Married for 30 years, I am the mother of two amazing young women.

    Goals

    People get so engaged with the challenges in their day-to-day lives, they forget who they are and what their big picture is. My goal is to help you gain enough altitude from your busy-ness that you can see yourself and your priorities clearly, understand where you are on your life and career path, and view yourself with greater neutrality. When you let go of harsh self-judgments and acknowledge your strengths and gifts, you begin to own ALL of who you are, which lets you navigate your life with greater mastery.

    Interest

    My husband, my 2 daughters, my son-in-law, my grand-dog (border collie and lab). Work-life balance, in general, across the board, and ways individuals can claim it and hold on to it. Sustainable work practices, sustainable productivity.

    Qualities & Strengths

    I become your unequivocal ally and creative partner in discovering what is "up" for you, both circumstantially, and from a whole-life and whole-career perspective. I have a track record for helping people get un-stuck, by asking powerful questions and offering a fresh look at what's going on. Most of all, what I hear from clients is that through my approach, I bring wisdom and "get it" quickly. I take a genuine interest in your life and your success, and I share with you my warmth, candor and humor.

    Background

    I've been a personal coach since 1995, and became International Coach Federation-certified as one of the first Professional Certified Coaches (PCC) in 1999, during the initial rollout of coach certifications. I am now certified as a Master Certified Coach (MCC). I am a graduate of Coach University, the premier coach training program in the world. My prior business and education experience include training, facilitation, project management, and computer systems work. I have also run successful freelance businesses: as a database application developer, and now as a personal coach. The mother of two young women and married for 30 years, I understand first hand the challenges of creating balance and integration within a full life. In addition to work-life balance issues, I also have direct, personal experience with career change and midlife transition.
